2010-11 School Year
1st Grade:
History: The Story of the World by Susan Wise Bauer with accompanying workbook and MANY living books (books with author's names on the covers)
Writing: Writing With Ease by Susan Wise Bauer. I just have the workbook, but it looks pretty straight-forward.
Grammar: First Language Lessons for the Well Trained Mind by Jessie Wise.
Math: Bob Jones Math 1
Reading: I will continue using A Beka readers for 1st grade, in addition to living books
Science: Not sure yet. Suggestions?
Art: I will probably buy Drawing with Children, or something along those lines, in addition to performing several art projects from the history book.
Poetry/Memorization: A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson
Kindergarten
Since my youngest daughter already did social studies, science, and readiness skills from A Beka K5 (I just made her copies when my older daughter was doing them), I'm considering working on math and reading. In which case, I'll be looking for BJU Math K and I'll use A Beka reading/phonics.
